What is Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a hands-on approach that manipulates soft tissues to promote relaxation, relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and enhance overall well-being. It reduces stress, eases pain, and supports healing for physical and mental health.

Who can Benefit

Individuals with chronic muscle tension

Massage therapy can help alleviate chronic muscle tightness and tension, reducing discomfort and improving range of motion.

People experiencing stress and anxiety

Massage therapy promotes relaxation, reduces stress levels, and enhances overall well-being, providing a calming effect on the body and mind.

Those seeking pain relief

Whether it’s due to injury, overuse, or underlying conditions, massage therapy can help manage pain by targeting specific areas and promoting healing through improved circulation and tissue flexibility.

What to expect at a Massage therapy Session

Personalized Assessment

Your registered massage therapist will discuss your medical history and any specific concerns you have, followed by an assessment of your posture, range of motion, and areas of tension or discomfort.

Using various massage techniques, your therapist will apply pressure and manipulate your muscles, soft tissues, and joints to help alleviate tension, reduce pain, and promote relaxation. They may use oils or lotions to facilitate smooth movement.

Post-Treatment Guidance

After the massage, your therapist may provide self-care advice and recommend follow-up sessions to maintain benefits. Stretching exercises and relaxation techniques may be suggested.

I am always impressed by both the professional and support staff at Vernon. Active Health. They are really a team who work at providing a good experience from making an appointment to getting services. I have gone to Cory for years for chiropractic work. I have just started doing the facial cupping with Debbie Jonasson and have had very good results with acupuncture and in particular Deb’s scar work with acupuncture. Thanks to Cory and his staff for a total package care centre.

“Today I had an initial acupuncture appointment with Debra. She was great. Debra also did cupping on my back and this wasn’t cupping I’ve been accustomed to. Typically, I had it where the cup is placed on an area for a period of time then pulled off, however, Debra was moving the cup all over my back and then left a bunch on while she worked the other side. I haven’t felt this loose and good for a long time. I’ll be scheduling another acupuncture and cupping session in the future fur sure. If you have Instagram, check out their page and watch the video that says, “Spring Cleaning” on it. Their page is vernon_active_health . 🙂 Highly recommend and the staff are great!
